Used tomato sauce, half ketchup, half worchestershire then added one onion and a can of button mushrooms.
It was delishious over toast.
We liked this a lot. It’s a tasty recipe but nothing special about preparing it in the IP. Next time I’d make it in a pan on the stove for easier clean up.
Delicious! Making it in the IP allowed me to work while it was thickening without having to watch the stove. Will make it again.
We used venison w/itailan sausage and were very sastified with the flavor.
I have the new Costco Instant Pot and it kept saying “BURN”. So I had to cut the times down to 5 minutes. Everything turned out fantastic!!!!!
Simple and quick. Good taste.
I thought that it had too much ketchup. Could have used some onions and peppers. I could see this being a base for a better recipe with a little more dimension.
I agree with it calling for too much ketchup. Wish i had read the reviews before making. I added a white onion chopped up and lots of salt and pepper and that helped cut the sweetness of the ketchup. Overall it was crazy easy and tasty enough
I thought it was perfect and so did my family, including my three children!
Hi Blairbowman,
If you prefer a dryer sloppy joe, you can reduce the ketchup, bbq, and Worcestershire to your liking. The recipe is considered an IP recipe since it can be made using other methods but with less cleanup. Again, it is your preference on how you like to cook this recipe.
Blairbowman,
Lets not be so critical. Remenber, this is suppose to be fun! And frankly I use my IP as often as possible. We buy these fun gadgets to make less work and more fun. I look for any reason to use it. Ofcourse it would be just as simple in a regular pan, but that would’nt be as much fun! Love my Instant Pot.
