NOTE: The soup may seem thin immediately after cooking, but it will thicken upon standing. If prepared in advance and refrigerated, thin the soup with water when reheating until it reaches the desired consistency.

I made this in the 3 qt mini duo without adding bacon. Instead, I just starting by sautéing the veggies in a tablespoon of olive oil. The total volume was slightly over the max line so next time I will probably just add less water (although it didn’t seem to be a problem).
Good recipe. Thick and creamy yummy on a cold fall day. Made exactly as instructed except use ham bone. Timing is right. Will make again.
I double the recipe and made a complete pot full. Substituted pre-cooked ham steak slices cubed for the bacon. Everything else followed per recipe. It was delicious and I shared two bowls with the neighbor. Will make again when winter gets here
Easy and delicious!
I made this using turkey deli strips instead of bacon. It was delicious! Yum and so fast!
So easy to make. We added leftover cooked ham too. We decided that we will most probably only add one cup of water next time to make it even more thicker and maybe a slightly longer cook time for the peas as they still had a bit of harder texture but tasted great!
Made this exactly as recipe said. It was wonderful. First time using the ip!
Excellent flavor and consistency.
Delicious
Excellent, easy to make, consistent results every time, even when doubling the amount. Add a dash of curry powder for extra zing.
One tip, unless going for healthy, add more bacon. Otherwise, delicious!
Hello, Angela here. I was given my brand new instant pot duo 7 in 1 for Christmas this year and I’m using it tonight for the very first time, trying my hand at my very favorite soup, Split Pea with Bacon. It was a very fast recipe and then I added milk to it to become creamy. It tastes so delicious! This whole time today while preparing to go to the store and to make this meal, I will admit that I was very scared. I was scared only because of the stories I had heard over the years of pressure cookers exploding. But tonight, my worries are eased just a little and I’m sure will ease up even more as I use the IP.
Loved this recipe! I did cook foe a bit longer (about 15 mins longer). Shared with a friend too
“Best pea soup ive ever had” -the wife .. we doubled the recipe.. sauted the vegies for 10 minutes.. replaced bacon with cooked cubed ham and pressure cooked for 25 minutes followed by 10 minutes of cool down then release.. this produced some of the best tasting and textured split pea soup we have cooked together.
So easy. Soo much flavor.
So fast and easy, seasonings were right on. I used ham instead of bacon but did saute veg with a little bacon grease. Add crusty bread for a quick winter dinner.
Simple and delicious. I might use more chicken stock and less water next time.
Love this recipe! Added 1 can of diced potatoes. It was yummy!
Was good flavor – instrad kf bacon, i had some hame ther i chopped up and added instead. Because it was already cooked ham and small pieces, i didnt need to chsnge the cooking time. Great and quick meal!
Turned out great! I soaked the split peas for 7 hours. I dont think the recipe says to do that. Don’t need the added salt and i used low sodium broth.
Wonderful flavor, quick and easy meal – was wven able to prepare before going to work and keep it warm all day! Yum!
Excellent, amazing recipe
Love this recipe! I swapped out turkey bacon for regular bacon. Yum!
This is soooo good.
Easy & delicious. I used cubed ham instead of bacon, but the veggies were sauteed in bacon grease.
Amazing!!! Really realky good and easy.
Delicious! I chose to use cubed ham, instead of bacon. I also cooked it on high pressure, for 25 minutes, with 10 minutes of NPR.
Very good! I didn’t have bacon, so I substituted crimini mushrooms, but it turned out great.
Tasty and simple recipe! Can be doubled if you have guests. I like to serve with a slice of toasted sourdough and some grated Gruyere cheese too.
This was great. It was enen a bit sweet.
Was very easy, I added some of the baked left over ham but ultimately kept to the recipie. Will make this again
I sauteed the vegetables in oil, used two quarts chicken broth, cubed a ham steak, and added four smoked ham hocks. Fifteen minutes on high pressure, then 10 min natural relwase, then quick release. Best ever!
We enjoyed this very much .I added ham and cooked three pieces of bacon instead of eight.
Wonderful on a cold snowy evening.
Perfect quick meal. Wow im impressed
This was delicious!! Hubby said that split pea soup wasn’t high on his list, that is, until he tasted it. After two large bowls, he asked when I was going to make it again!! The only thing I did differently was add cubed ham. Yummy!! Will definitely keep this recipe to make it again! Thank you!
I also used ham instead of bacon. My husband loved this soup. It was very easy and tasty. Thank you.
