Directions indicate 0 minutes. Typo?
0 min? I want to try this as my first IP recipe, but confused. Thanks!
Any suggestions on how long to steam it for?
Steam for 5 minutes
I’ve made this before and it’s delicious. 0 min is NOT a typo…bring it up to sealing pressure, then turn it off, NPR
Quick, simple and amazing. I swapped Sauzon Goya for the Old Bay seasoning as a personal preference. The shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with the steam at 0 minutes and a natural release.
Great for an easy first use! I used blackened old bay seasoning & spicy Italian sausage.
Hubby loved it!
Very flavorful and easy to do.
Can i use frozen shrimp? If so, do i change the steam time?
Added some jalapenos for extra flavor and zip… very tasty and easy to make.
Super easy and quick. Used chorizo instead of smoked sausage and added jalapeno (thanks TimTam!), cajun spice, chipotle mango spice, siracha lime spice and served with basmati rice.
Super easy to make! Used turkey sausage and cajun seasoning. Next time adding jalapeños! Served it with cheese tortellini with jar spaghetti sauce for my picky kids.
Easy! 0 minutes is not a typo. It takes a bit while locked to steam up enough for the valve to shut. Cooked the shrimp perfectly.
Made this and used spicy sausage & used chicken broth instead of water. The flavors were very, very good & both my husband & I loved dinner. This will be on a regular dinner rotation. Think I won’t saute peppers though so they’ll be a bit more al dente.
Delicious and healthy option. I used chorizo chicken sausage.
Super yummy!
Excellent! So easy to make and delicious! We made jalepeno corn bread muffins and dipped them into the broth. It would also be excellent served over rice or black beans.
It says steam for 0 minutes and then naturally release but my valve never even went up. Im so confused.
This has become one of our favorite Instant Pot Recipes 🙂 so yummy! Its a favorite in our house.
That means the unit never pressurized and steamed the food instead of pressure cooking.
Tasted like gumbo i added asparugus and subbed crab boil for the bay seasoning and added some butter and put cauliflower rice in when it was finished we will be making this again.
Great! Made without whitefish. Added corn.
This recipe is perfect. With or without using chicken broth instead of water, the results are very flavorful.
HELP!! Do I use cooked or uncooked sausages?? Want to make this recipe this weekend SOS
Hi Angie,
The recipe calls for smoked sausage.
Typically actually smoked meat, not smoked flavour, is meat that is cooked by smoking.
Great dish. Thanks for sharing.
Easy and tasty
