After losing 80 lbs by following a restricted calorie, low carb, keto diet, I use this blog to share easy and delicious recipes from around the world with foodies who enjoy good food, but don’t always have the time to cook elaborate meals. I’ve chosen to keep it largely ad-free, except for a few helpful affiliate links.
I am not a professional blogger. In fact, what I really do for a living is to run Tasseologic (www.tasseologic.com) which is a data-driven CRM agency. I have a doctorate in Experimental Psychology, and I use what I learned as a scientist to help drive incremental ROI via marketing.
I use my Instant Pot a lot, and I enjoy a variety of cuisines, so you’ll see lots of recipes from India, Mexico, Thailand, Korea, etc. in the blog. I hope you enjoy the recipes, and I’d love to hear from you as you try one.

This dish is quick and tasty!
Very easy (at least for me.) Reminds me of my grandpa’s tourtieres! Very good!
Easy, fast, delicious. Serves 4 with salad on the side. Love your recipes, Urvashi – thank you!! ♡
Put a note not to mix the rice.
Only add the rice on top after adding the water. Otherwise the “burn” message will come on and turn off the Instant Pot.
Hi Selahta,
This Recipe is designed for our multicooker line and not our Pressure Cookers.
Hi there this was created for the Instant Pot Gem. It can be made in the Instant Pot Aura and Aura Pro now.
To make it in the pressure cooker use 1 cup rice 1 cup water and set it to high pressure for 4 minutes, allowing it to release pressure naturally for 10 minutes before releasing all remaining pressure.
I hope this helps!
Very flaverful and easy to make!
Delicious and pretty easy to prepare
Made this for my family!!! They loved it! Ate jt all up. Tasted authentic!
My kids love this! I took it to book club and they loved it too!
It can also be made with chicken as well!
I made mine in the IP. Easy, quick and completely delicious, already a new favourite after one meal of it!
Ingredient variation I used: 1/4 cup of rough chopped almonds as I didn’t have any pine nuts; it worked well.
I served it with a spoon of sour cream and quartered sour dill pickles on the side instead of tzatziki.
This will be kept in mind as an especially good way to use a pound of ground beef and make a quick meal.
5/5 stars, A+!
Why is this listed as a vegetarian recipe?
Hi James,
Some recipes have vegan or vegetarian options in the recipe notes.
This author listed a few different ways of making this recipe depending on your diet.
I prepared this and thought it was wonderful. Reminded me of a persian dish I had at a restaurant. The only thing I changed was to add a little dry harissa for a touch of heat and a handful of dried currants. I served it with chopped fresh mint, cilantro and green onions. Yum!
Very good and easy to make. Can easily be double if you have the 8 qt Instant Pot.
