For cooking chicken
  • 2tbsp oil
  • 1inch slice gingergrated
  • 1 large garlic clovegrated
  • 1tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 oniondiced
  • 2 chicken breastscubed
  • 1/4cup soy sauce(light soy sauce or dark) low sodium
  • 2tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1tbsp Hoisin Sauce(optional)
For sautéing
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1cup broccoli florets
  • 1tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2tbsp Hoisin Sauce
  • 1tsp sesame oil
  • 2handfuls Cilantro chopped
  • 1tbsp corn starchmixed with 2 tbsp cold water
  1. Turn on Instant Pot- I used 7 in 1 Duo IP. Click Saute- Normal Temperature.
  2. Let display show HOT. Add oil. To the oil, add ginger, garlic and red chili flakes, saute for a few seconds.
  3. Add onion, saute for 1 minute. Add chicken along with soy sauce, tomato ketchup and hoisin sauce, combine well. Cancel Saute.
  4. Turn knob to SEALING. Close the pot with the lid. Click Manual or Pressure Cook, Adjust to High pressure. Set Time to 3 minutes.
  5. After 3 minutes of pressure cooking, do a quick pressure release. Click Saute- Normal Temperature.
  6. Add red pepper and broccoli florets, cook for a minute. Add honey, combine well.
  7. Add sesame seeds, hoisin sauce and sesame oil, combine well, cook for a minute. Add cilantro, combine well.
  8. In a small bowl, combine corn starch with water, add that to chicken, combine well and let the gravy thicken.
  9. Remove the stainless steel pot from the main pot. Serve in a bowl, this can be served with basmati, brown or jasmine rice.
