I made this soup tonight for my mil. She just had surgery and hasnt wanted to eat much of anything. This was the first good amount of food that she has eaten in a few days. We will definitely have this again! It is super easy! I did tweak in by adding about a 1/2 tbs of italian seasoning.
Im about to make this but i dont see any noodles on this recioe?
It was good and really easy but I’d add more chicken next time and throw in some seasoning.
What kind of noodles do you recommend
Would cut potatoes on the larger side. Need more spices
I am about to make this but i don’t see where to add the noodles? Maybe i will add noodles instead of potatoes?
Im making this now – i didnt put in potatoes but will add noodles at the end. I’ll update this after dinner tonight
Making it tonight going to add cooked eggnoodles at end instead of potatoes also added some extra seasonings 🙂
Making it now! Fingers crossed!
Was very pleased with this receipe. One of the best chicken soups we have had. I substituted GF rice spaghetti noodles w/out changing the receipe and they turned out great.
My second IP recipe made.
Everything is super tender.
The chicken is a good texture. Although, in the future I might marinade it.
Savee me 4 hours of stove top cooking.
5/5
Best chicken soup ever! The potatos really give it an amazing texture!
Can you make it with ground turkey
Why a photo with noodles but no noodles in recipe?
Added lots more of what it says. Especially the chicken and 2 xups more broth and a chicken boullion. Put in some spices too. Also added the little baby pasta circles. But i cooked them separately. Delicious!
This was by far the best chicken soup I’ve ever made! I did use noodles instead of potatoes, but I do intend on using potatoes next time to see how that tastes. I mean, you cant go wrong with potatoes, right? I also added celery and 2 more cups water.
For noodles, wait until soup is finished & then use saute feature to boil, add noodles and cook until done.
Can this be made starting with frozen chicken?
I made this the other day. It was delicious. This is a keeper. I used fresh noodles instead of potatoes. The pasta only took 2 minutes to cook. I added mixed herbs and chicken seasoning.
Is it necessary to use frozen chicken? Do I put the whole breast in or cut it up first?
Very easy to make. I used Mrs. Dash and minced garlic along with salt/pepper. The potatoes are interesting, but I think noodles (or even rice) might suit it better. I might also experiment with different spices/vegetables, seems versatile enough for multiple variations.
Really good. I put chicken in frozen, added celery, bayleaf as well. At the end of the 35 minutes took out chicken and shredded it, returned it to the pot with egg noddles and more broth, put it on for another 5 minutes. I also put in more chicken, broth and vegetables than it called for.
Are you six drumsticks and said and vegetable stock, added carrots celery and celery root and it turned out amazing. Served over a flat at noodles for a family favorite.
Well its in the pot. Wish this recipe had more detailed directions. I should of left chicken bigger and then shreaded it at a later time. Instead imcubed it up.
Thought aboit leaving out the potatos and later adding rice.
Chop, dump, cook. Dinner is served. So easy!
Super easy to make. Tasted pretty good. Added some chopped celery which i love in my chicken noodle soup. I substituted left over frozen turkey for chicken and that also worked well. Actually enjoyed the potatoes which i wasn’t sure i would.
Can i add noodles?
Just a question. 4 potatoes? That could be anything from big russetts to small red potatoes. Please give either a volume measurement or weight measurement. 4 potatoes is useless as a guide.
Hi Charles,
You are correct. I would say large russets to make the soup heartier.
The chicken soup is delicious, but i left out the potatos and added celery. I would recommend this soup without the potatos
Have made this twice. Very good but i tweaked it somewhat. I added more veg – whatever i had leftover in the fridge and added some dried chili flakes. Swapped out thighs for breasts. Cheaper & tastier
Simple and delicious
It was pretty good, but a little bland. Also, when I used russet potatoes, there were way more potatoes than chicken. Between the size and the option of not peeling the skins, I think maybe small red potatoes might be intended.
Russets are a bigger variety of potatoes. Yellow or red potatoes are smaller and would work better for this recipe. When making recipes if you notice they are season lighter, than you typically season, you can always add more than they call for.
Bland and inedible
Made this following directions exactly and when I opened the IP, all the broth was gone and absorbed into the potatoes…
I guess I have a nice.. stew?
Do you put the lid on or leave off when cooking? If so, what is the valve setting?
It’s great! Loved it. Added celery as well.
