I made this for the first time last night, and I was a little skeptical with the seasoning. However, the seasoning on the chicken gives the dish the kick that it needs, because the seasoning in the sauce is a bit too bland for my taste. However, my five children LOVED it, so any recipe that all of my children will eat gets five stars.

I agree with the other comment. It wasa hit, but it needs more flavor! I think next time Ill double the spices to taste. Also, instead of the cream I used greek yogurt i had made with a little bit of milk. (1 2/3 yogurt 1/3-1/4 milk) healthy and tasted great!

  3. Rebelbon
    Rebelbon says:

I made this yonight because i was at a loss for what to make. The changes were: no paprika cause I didnt have it in the house and I added some better than boullion to the chicken base. My family says “its a keeper!”

I am in the middle of making this…the recipe calls fir heavy cream but does not say how or when to add/use it?????

  5. BarryKidd
    BarryKidd says:

    Heavy cream?

Should I leave it out or add it with water and hope for good results.

I gredent list calls for it. Directio s dont include it and the photo accompanies the recipe doesn’t look like it uses cream at all.

This was your first time using the instant pot. This recipe was delicious, my husband can’t stop talking about it. Based on a previous comment we decided to use Greek yogurt in place of the heavy cream, and we added some cayenne to spice it up a bit. Two thumbs up. Can’t wait to eat the leftovers

  7. Rivvvs
    Rivvvs says:

Fantastic dish! I found it was a bit runny after adding the heavy cream…so I added another 2 tbsp of cornstarch to 2 tbsp of water and added it to the sauce. I also wanted to get some veg in there, so I added some red, yellow, and green peppers!! Delicious meal. Substitute the spaghetti for fettucini and you’ll find the dosh is just that much better!!

    river.m.grow says:

I also substituted the heavy cream for greek yogurt ans it was great. I think next time Ill switch the parsley for green onions as a taste preference. I also feel like some roasted tomatoes might be good.

My first IP meal and huge success, family of 7 and EVERYONE liked it! Didnt chamge anything (except adding broth for 8 quart,,). Think next time I’ll try some of the suggestions in the other comments.

Good. Didn’t have cornstarch, so sauce wasn’t thickened. Served with noodles and zucchini sauted with same spices.

This is my second time making this delicious meal!! Next time I think I will try the Greek yogurt. I’m trying to make foods lighter. Thank you for a great recipe!!

    Deepseadivergirl says:

    Delicious!

    Made a few modifications:
    1. Probably tripled spices. Instead of tossing all the chicken in the bowl of spices at once, I coated each piece individually before sautéing. This required me to mix a few batches of spices.
    2. After the chicken was done cooking, I put it back on the plate to make the sauce in the pot by itself.
    3. I added flour, not corn starch, directly to the pot. I did not add 2 Tbsp of water, I used what was in the pot. I added about 3 Tbsp of flour in total, 2 initially and another after the cream was added to further thicken. Once the broth and flour was really thick, almost a paste, I added the cream and sautéed on Low until the desired consistency (after a few minutes of impatience I added that 3rd Tbsp of flour).
    4. About 2 minutes before the sauce was done cooking I added 1/2 red bell pepper to the pot. I turned off pot and added 8 heirloom cherry tomatoes.
    5. I used edamame pasta instead of spaghetti (carb conscious alternative).
    6. I plated the pasta, then chicken, last covered both in the sauce.

The plate was extremely flavorful and had a slight kick. Forgot to mention I substituted 1/2 red chili’s and 1/2 cayenne for the chili powder.

Amazing recipe! I made a gluten free (used edamame noodles) and dairy free (coconut milk fat) version that turned out delicious! I also added chipotle pepper powder and Tony’s to the seasoning. My husband loved it and I will definitely make it again!

Never heard of this recipe, it looked similar to a Hungarian family recipe so we gave it a try. It was not as similar as it looked by the ingredients but is an AMAZING dish and we can not wait to make it again and try with other pastas. The sauce is super flavorful, was not expecting that.

    khsearle says:

This was simple and everyone seemed to like it. I picked it because I had most of the ingredient on hand already and it was stuff I normally have in stock, which is great! I think this would be good without the pasta as well, or with rice. We thought it tasted a bit like a spicey alfredo so maybe try a bow tie pasta or fettucine as well. Will make again

  21. Jlynnw61

Too much Heavy cream I would use 1 cup of half and half instead and then salt and Pepper again at the end and I use zucchini noodles instead of pasta

ERMAHGERD!!!! THIS was the 2nd thing I ever made in my Instant Pot. 1st thing I made were hard boiled eggs.

Chicken Lazone is TO DIE FOR!!!! I would make it again. I would make it for friends and family.

I brag to everyone about how SHORT of cooking time there was when making this dish.

    *OMNOMNOMNOMNOM*

I give it 5 STOMACHS up. lol

  24. TarlsQtr
    TarlsQtr says:

    My first Instant Pot attempt.

Was excellent. I read some other reviews that it was a little bland, so I started with 1 cup of cream rather than the 2 cups suggested and tasted. I also added to the pot any leftover spices in the mixture that you rolled the chicken in. 1 cup of cream left the perfect amount of heat and still had more than enough sauce. In other words, start with 1 and taste until you get the flavor you want. My 12 year old ate more chicken than I ever saw him eat. 🙂

Made this tonight and it was delicious! I have my own recipe for Chicken Lazone but I like this one better. Especially when made in my mimi IP. Thanks for a recipee we will use again and again.

  29. Bjmac
    Bjmac says:

Amount of spice per amount of chicken needs to be doubled. Also its more peppery then I felt it should be. We’re not eating anything white, and protein with Veggies. Served pasta separate, and made steamed brocoli and Zuchini with Mrs Dash table. Next time double spices and less pepper. Everything worked well with timing. Thickened with Arrowroot instead of cornstrach.

Didnt try the recipe but it is tagged under paleo and gluten free. It is neither. Corn starch, heavy cream, and spaghetti are not paleo. Spaghetti, unless you specifically state the gf kind, is bot gluten free. I was excited to try a yummy looking recipe only to see it has been falsley tagged.

I doubled the seasonings, and even added some in when it was done cook, and it was still BLAND. I even had to add extra corn starch as it was runny like like a soup consistency.

I absolutely love this recipe! Great flavor. Mine turned more into a stew as I added yukon potatoes and it was a bit saucy. Will definitely make again.

  47. Littlekcs
    Littlekcs says:

I doubled the spices as suggested! Prior to sauteing the chicked I sauted sliced mushrooms and a small chopped zuchinin in the pot. I removed when slighty tender, added a bit more butter and oil, and then sauted the chicken. I added the chicked broth and put the veggies on top of the chicken and cooked everything for 4 mins. I’m lactose intolerant so I used coconut cream instead of heavy cream. It was DELISH!

  49. Tsheaby
    Tsheaby says:

    Almost, but not quite there.

I followedrecommendations and doubled the spices + replaced the cream with greek yogurt. The outcome was still a somewhat bland flavor, just not a lot going on.
We had to add hot sauce to simply give it some variety. The chicken also came out a darker brown than this pictured, I can assume from the extra chili powder and paprika but didn’t look like the nice bronze as shown.
I may try it again but marinate the chicken overnight & adjust seasoning.

Like most people suggested, I doubled the spices and used only a cup of heavy cream. The flavoring turned out amazing so I’m sure it would have been bland not doubling the spices. I think it would be better with maybe some minced garlic as well more texture, like mushrooms.
