I made this for the first time last night, and I was a little skeptical with the seasoning. However, the seasoning on the chicken gives the dish the kick that it needs, because the seasoning in the sauce is a bit too bland for my taste. However, my five children LOVED it, so any recipe that all of my children will eat gets five stars.
I agree with the other comment. It wasa hit, but it needs more flavor! I think next time Ill double the spices to taste. Also, instead of the cream I used greek yogurt i had made with a little bit of milk. (1 2/3 yogurt 1/3-1/4 milk) healthy and tasted great!
I made this yonight because i was at a loss for what to make. The changes were: no paprika cause I didnt have it in the house and I added some better than boullion to the chicken base. My family says “its a keeper!”
My first dish with the Instant Pot and I love it thank you
I am in the middle of making this…the recipe calls fir heavy cream but does not say how or when to add/use it?????
While i thought this was delicious, i feel that 2 cups of cream made it too watery.
It was good. I sub greek yougurt for the heavy cream!! All kids loved it.
This was really gopd and easy! The only change inhad to make was using chili powder instead of cardamom
Heavy cream?
Should I leave it out or add it with water and hope for good results.
I gredent list calls for it. Directio s dont include it and the photo accompanies the recipe doesn’t look like it uses cream at all.
Ignore my first comment. I guess I’m old and need better glasses. Found my qustion.
This was your first time using the instant pot. This recipe was delicious, my husband can’t stop talking about it. Based on a previous comment we decided to use Greek yogurt in place of the heavy cream, and we added some cayenne to spice it up a bit. Two thumbs up. Can’t wait to eat the leftovers
Doubled seasoning and used greek yogurt with a little milk….tasted great!
Fantastic dish! I found it was a bit runny after adding the heavy cream…so I added another 2 tbsp of cornstarch to 2 tbsp of water and added it to the sauce. I also wanted to get some veg in there, so I added some red, yellow, and green peppers!! Delicious meal. Substitute the spaghetti for fettucini and you’ll find the dosh is just that much better!!
I also substituted the heavy cream for greek yogurt ans it was great. I think next time Ill switch the parsley for green onions as a taste preference. I also feel like some roasted tomatoes might be good.
My first IP meal and huge success, family of 7 and EVERYONE liked it! Didnt chamge anything (except adding broth for 8 quart,,). Think next time I’ll try some of the suggestions in the other comments.
Good. Didn’t have cornstarch, so sauce wasn’t thickened. Served with noodles and zucchini sauted with same spices.
Family loved it…I did not have parsley so I used summer spice. Also added shrimp on top.
First ever thing webe done. But from frozen. Took 6 mins. Didnt use cream used philly also left out half the salt and onion and garlic instead added crushes red pepper. Awesome
Amazing!!! Best recipe ever!!!
Anyone use frozen chicken tenders? How did you adjust the cooking time if you didn’t saute the chicken first?
This is my second time making this delicious meal!! Next time I think I will try the Greek yogurt. I’m trying to make foods lighter. Thank you for a great recipe!!
Delicious!
Made a few modifications:
1. Probably tripled spices. Instead of tossing all the chicken in the bowl of spices at once, I coated each piece individually before sautéing. This required me to mix a few batches of spices.
2. After the chicken was done cooking, I put it back on the plate to make the sauce in the pot by itself.
3. I added flour, not corn starch, directly to the pot. I did not add 2 Tbsp of water, I used what was in the pot. I added about 3 Tbsp of flour in total, 2 initially and another after the cream was added to further thicken. Once the broth and flour was really thick, almost a paste, I added the cream and sautéed on Low until the desired consistency (after a few minutes of impatience I added that 3rd Tbsp of flour).
4. About 2 minutes before the sauce was done cooking I added 1/2 red bell pepper to the pot. I turned off pot and added 8 heirloom cherry tomatoes.
5. I used edamame pasta instead of spaghetti (carb conscious alternative).
6. I plated the pasta, then chicken, last covered both in the sauce.
The plate was extremely flavorful and had a slight kick. Forgot to mention I substituted 1/2 red chili’s and 1/2 cayenne for the chili powder.
So yummy. I used flour instead of cornstarch because thats what i had on hand! Tasted great! Good flavor
This was amazing! I used half and half instead of cream.
My first instant pot recipe. I’m surprised it got great reviews. It needed more flavour. I would feed this to toddlers! I will add more spices next time!!
This was fantastic and we cant wait to make it again!
Mine came out red! Not sure how it wouldnt be with paprika and chili powder… super yummy though!!! Ive made it twice!!
Amazing recipe! I made a gluten free (used edamame noodles) and dairy free (coconut milk fat) version that turned out delicious! I also added chipotle pepper powder and Tony’s to the seasoning. My husband loved it and I will definitely make it again!
Never says what to do with the cream??
Only 1/2 of water? I thought you need a cup to get it to pressure?
Instead of heavy cream I used 2 c. of whole milk, 4 tbsp. of cornstarch and 1/3 c. of grated parmesan. Very tasty!
I made this chicken over mash potatos. It was delish.
Never heard of this recipe, it looked similar to a Hungarian family recipe so we gave it a try. It was not as similar as it looked by the ingredients but is an AMAZING dish and we can not wait to make it again and try with other pastas. The sauce is super flavorful, was not expecting that.
Made it over rice instead of pasta. Tasty!
One of our favorite go to recipes for hectic nights!! Great flavor!!!
It was delicious! I added grated parmesan to it! I will definitely make it again!
Fixed for friends. It was delicious.
This was simple and everyone seemed to like it. I picked it because I had most of the ingredient on hand already and it was stuff I normally have in stock, which is great! I think this would be good without the pasta as well, or with rice. We thought it tasted a bit like a spicey alfredo so maybe try a bow tie pasta or fettucine as well. Will make again
Too much Heavy cream I would use 1 cup of half and half instead and then salt and Pepper again at the end and I use zucchini noodles instead of pasta
Very good! Liked by everyone.
This turned pout very good! Next time I make this I will add some mushrooms and maybe some peppers.
Très bon
ERMAHGERD!!!! THIS was the 2nd thing I ever made in my Instant Pot. 1st thing I made were hard boiled eggs.
Chicken Lazone is TO DIE FOR!!!! I would make it again. I would make it for friends and family.
I brag to everyone about how SHORT of cooking time there was when making this dish.
*OMNOMNOMNOMNOM*
I give it 5 STOMACHS up. lol
This was aweome! Easy to make & it turned out so well. My family loved it!
My first Instant Pot attempt.
Was excellent. I read some other reviews that it was a little bland, so I started with 1 cup of cream rather than the 2 cups suggested and tasted. I also added to the pot any leftover spices in the mixture that you rolled the chicken in. 1 cup of cream left the perfect amount of heat and still had more than enough sauce. In other words, start with 1 and taste until you get the flavor you want. My 12 year old ate more chicken than I ever saw him eat. 🙂
Really good and super easy! I will make this again for sure!!
Made it over organic bitternut squash noodles and it was fantastic!
Loved it. Will make again. Next time I will add mushroooms. 3 mins didnt quite cook it all the way. 5mins did the job
DEFINITELY double the spices. Followed the recipe accordingly. Delicious. But felt like it was missing something, not sure what!
Amazing taste! I cut down on cream, used smaller pieces of chicken, added s little extra seasoning, the taste was terrific and chicken very tender! Definitely making it again, family loved it!!!
Delicious and easy. I will make it again!!!
Made this tonight and it was delicious! I have my own recipe for Chicken Lazone but I like this one better. Especially when made in my mimi IP. Thanks for a recipee we will use again and again.
Fabulous restaurant style dish with terrific cream sauce that really perks up chicken.
Tried this as a first cook on my new InstaPot. Absolutely delish!!!
Amount of spice per amount of chicken needs to be doubled. Also its more peppery then I felt it should be. We’re not eating anything white, and protein with Veggies. Served pasta separate, and made steamed brocoli and Zuchini with Mrs Dash table. Next time double spices and less pepper. Everything worked well with timing. Thickened with Arrowroot instead of cornstrach.
This was my first recipe un ny Instant Pot. It was easy and delicious! Even our picky kid liked it. I doubled everything except the heavy whipping cream. We will be having this again.
Fantastic! My maiden voyage with the magic cooker. I’m in love.
This tasted very good but i will warn you tgat if you dont use the cornstarch slurry (i am allergic to corn) it will be too much cream.
My first instant pot recipe. After reading the reviews, I doubled the ingredients. Very tasty; family enjoyed it. I didn’t have any cream so i substituted sour cream instead.
So delicious! The spice amounts were just right (but I use Penzeys, which are robust, flavorful, and far superior to anything on the shelves at the grocery!) My kids raved about this one! Super easy to make too.
Made it tonight, was AMAZING!!! Totally make it again
Will double spices & use only one cup heavy cream
****its a bit spicy, but we love spicy 🙂
Easy and taste great! Great the way it is listed, but thinking about adding onion, bell pepper and mushrooms next time!
SO yummy! Both my kids loved it. I think i messed the sauce up tho because I didn’t find it to flavourful
This recipe is not paleo
Really good. I altered it to make it gluten and dairy free. Subbed GF noodles for the spaghetti and used canned coconut milk (with cream) for the heavy cream.
Made it, very tasty. 2# a bit much for a 6Qt. Will buy heavy cream next time (made my own)
Family favorite! Even my picky eater enjoyed this dish. I used whole grain pasta as an alternative. Great flavor and very easy.
Do you pour out the chicken stock!? Mine came out watery
Hi Mhatfield,
You do not need to pour out the stock. You can reduce it on Saute and thicken with cornstarch
Incredible and simple recipe! Was SHOCKED at how rich and creamy the sauce is. Everybody loved it! Didnt use as much heavy cream to make the sauce thicker!
Didnt try the recipe but it is tagged under paleo and gluten free. It is neither. Corn starch, heavy cream, and spaghetti are not paleo. Spaghetti, unless you specifically state the gf kind, is bot gluten free. I was excited to try a yummy looking recipe only to see it has been falsley tagged.
Hi Andria Jones,
Our apologies, it has been corrected.
Doubled the spices. Yum!
This was absolutely FABULOUS!! Eveyone is already asking when I will make it again.
This Was the first recipe i tried with my new pot. And now it’s a favourite in our house. Sooooo good!!!
Made it last night! Everyone loved it. Used 2% milk and extra cornstarch. Will definitely make it again.
Liked the creaminess but was a lot of spice. I cant seem to get chicken breasts to come out in the instant pot. They are always tough. Anyway was ok but probably wont make again.
I doubled the seasonings, and even added some in when it was done cook, and it was still BLAND. I even had to add extra corn starch as it was runny like like a soup consistency.
We loved this recipe! Only used 1 cup of cream though.
What kind of heavy cream?
Butter should be salted or unsalted?
Thanks!
I absolutely love this recipe! Great flavor. Mine turned more into a stew as I added yukon potatoes and it was a bit saucy. Will definitely make again.
This chicken was so savory and good. It feels like comfort food.
I doubled the spices as suggested! Prior to sauteing the chicked I sauted sliced mushrooms and a small chopped zuchinin in the pot. I removed when slighty tender, added a bit more butter and oil, and then sauted the chicken. I added the chicked broth and put the veggies on top of the chicken and cooked everything for 4 mins. I’m lactose intolerant so I used coconut cream instead of heavy cream. It was DELISH!
I think next time I will reduce the amount of chicken to 1.5 lbs but the dish was amazing and my family loved it!
Almost, but not quite there.
I followedrecommendations and doubled the spices + replaced the cream with greek yogurt. The outcome was still a somewhat bland flavor, just not a lot going on.
We had to add hot sauce to simply give it some variety. The chicken also came out a darker brown than this pictured, I can assume from the extra chili powder and paprika but didn’t look like the nice bronze as shown.
I may try it again but marinate the chicken overnight & adjust seasoning.
Wow!!!!! This was really good. I even missed up at the end of the recipe by adding the cream in with the corn starch but it still turned out really really good.
I’ve made this a few times now and I love it more every time. It’s simple and the flavour is delicious. My family loves it, even my somewhat fussy husband.
I love a good base recipe that allows me to use creative inspiration! This is an excellent recipe for that. I look forward to more variations!
Very tasty, but a little on the bland side. Will make it again but eill double the spices.
Recipe is just okay as is. Needs more flavor, I will double the spices next time. I will also serve it over vegetables. On the upside, the chicken was cooked to perfection! Mwah!
Came out a little blend. Need to add more spices
My family loved this! Did double the spices and use a littles less cream as other people suggested. Also added zucchini, cilantro, peas and green onion. Wonderful!
Like most people suggested, I doubled the spices and used only a cup of heavy cream. The flavoring turned out amazing so I’m sure it would have been bland not doubling the spices. I think it would be better with maybe some minced garlic as well more texture, like mushrooms.
Wonderful flavor! I used half the amount of cream with the instructed amount of seasoning and thought it tasted excellent!
Tastes great, but next time I will double the spices (and triple the chili powder) because the taste was hard to pick up.
Wow thisnis delicious and very easy to make. Highly recommended. Very good base that goes well ewith any vegetables and mushroom.
