Not really an instantpot recipe if all you use is the saute!
This is a simple breakfast and you can alter the toppings to your liking. I recommend decreasing the salt because of the sausage. The egg stuck to the pot and I had a tough time cleaning the egg out of the pot.
Didn’t care for this recipe. Too salty and buttery and it’s not really an Instant Pot recipe. Could just as easily be done in a frying pan.
Turned out really well. As others have said, you vould do this wothout the instapot. Family loved it. I skipped the avocado
This recipe was fantastic. The only problem I ran into was cleaning the pot, I had to let warm water sir in it for a few minutes and then clean it with a sponge. The eggs were delicious, not rich like scrambled eggs but not plain like a boiled egg. We skipped the avocado because we personally don’t like them, the green onions added a very nice flavor to the eggs and sausage. The recipe didn’t take long, about 20-25 minutes. Very tasty, flavorful, and easy! Highly recommend!
Taste good! I had to cook the sausage seperate which I didn’t like, but overall very good and filling.
Was very disappointed that my eggs stuck to the pot
This came out flavorful & very filling! Will definitely be making it again!
This was very tasty! I didnt have green onions or sausage so I substituted with white onion and bacon, yum! Also I topped it off with cilantro! Delicious! Will make again.
Has anyone tried spraying the pot with nonstick oil (e.g. Pam) to see if it helps with the sticky eggs?
Hi cb,
I havent tried it for this specific recipe but adding some nonstick oil helps with others.
Great breakfast but after reading the comments I didn’t use my IP just 1 frying pan. I just didn’t want to deal with stuck on egg.
I’ve made this in my skillet for years. Makes no sense to make it on the pot. I set saute to less and the egg still immediately made my pot show hot. Harder to clean then a skillet and same result.
Hi VikeRich,
The Instant Pot Multi-Use Pressure Cooker while sauteeing will display “Hot”. This is normal, and indicates that the it has reached temperature. It is not to be confused with “Burn”. Please refer to your user manual for more information.
There’s absolutely no reason to use the instant pot for this. It’s actually much easier to cook in a skillet !!
A pretty good breakfast option to start the day. I used microwaved veggie breakfast sausage from Morningstar since regular breakfast sausage sits kind of heavy on my stomach and I sauted a little bit of bell pepper first in about a tsp or so of olive oil in the Instant Pot, just enough to coat the bottom, before following the diections. It smelled really good while cooking. Might saute a little onion first too next time!
Delicious! I used ground turkey instead of sausage and it made a lot! Too much for two of us…more like 3 medium servings or 4 standard.
