A little on the orange side but way better than take out.
It was decent, but didn’t taste overly authentic. It was easy to make, though. I probably will not make this version again.
Super easy and taste great!
wasnt the best orange chicken, bbq sauce gave it a different flavor. dont think i would make again. very easy though.
Really needs help. Won’t be making it again.
Tasted good but the bbq sauce overpowers everything else. I’d still make again
Healthier then panda express!!! No frying require . Love it!! I mainate the sauce with the chicken over night.
I thought it tasted good, but for someone who likes sauce, i thought the yield was a little low
I used 2lbs chicken breasts cut up. It was delicious. Will make it again.
Was good, wish the sauce had been thicker and not so soupy
Don’t make this, terrible
Add 1/2 tsp salt to really bump up the taste
If its too soupy add more corn starch. Consider adding scallion whites to boiling sauce before adding back in the chicken. Sesame seeds toasted really added depth!
Its true to soppy but i thicken with more cornstarch
This was super quick and easy. It doesn’t exactly like a restaurant-style orange chicken but i think its because i could only find brown sugar BBQ sauce with hickory smoke flavoring. Maybe next time ill just add more orange juice and just add brown sugar
Very good.
Not great. Picture is extremely misleading.
Delicious i used 2lbs chicken breasts and sweet baby ray bbq with honey
Supper yummy! I added more cornstarch to it along with more orange juoce and marmalade! Thos helped the overpowering taste of bbq sauce!
NOT good! Had to put the chicken back in because it wasnt cooked and the picture and name are very misleading.
It was very yummy
Not good
Depending on the size of the chicken it may need more cooking time. You can cut the chicken up in smaller pieces to ensure it cooks through completely.
Delcious and my kids loved it too!
Good and easy
Did not like this
I liked it. It did not come out like the picture, but tasted good.
Very easy , fast and yummy
It needed a little more cornstarch an orange marmalade, but it tasted awesome.
More soy sause less marmelad little too orange but chicken cut into bite size before cooked perfect tenderness
Very good! Whole family said this recipe is a keeper.
Took the advice of a review and cut up chicken into bite size pieces and trimmed off fat. Cooked chicken with OJ, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce on high pressure for 12 minutes (1 1/2 pounds of boneless thighs.) Quick release of pressure. When chicken was done, removed chicken and set aside. Cooked sauce until thickened, and then added chicken back to pot and stirred into sauce. Served over steamed rice. Very good. Chicken was very tender. Note: Most recipes don’t cook chicken long enough.
Chicken is tender. Overall flavor is good. We added a packet of criushed red pepper for a bit of heat. The sauce did not thicken as it said it would. Add some green onions it pairs well.
Not a bad dish. Was missing something and never thickened the way it should have. Also 5 min over cooked the chicken just a little bit. Will try again with my own tweaks
This recipe cooked up just like it’s described and I had no problem with getting the sauce thick. I think the key is that you mix the sauce ingredients in a separate bowl before dumping them in the instant pot. Even my husband who is a picky eater loved it!
If you have an 8 quart do you have to put extra liquid in?
I made this in the morning, for my son, knowing I would be working late. I used a spicy Korean BBQ sauce for added kick. I made the mistake of putting in the marmalade at the beginning of cooking. After the pressure cooking, I made the cornstarch mixture and added another 1/4 C of marmalade. It was amazing. I used frozen chicken tenders and increased the cook time to 7 minutes. My son and his friend ate it all and said it was the best orange chicken they’d ever had.
Very simple recipe. This is not as spicy and acidic as some orange chicken recipes so this was well suited to our taste. Will be making this again.
Tasted good, but nothing like orange chicken. It was more like orange flavored bbq chicken.
Was ok but mostly tasted the BBQ more than the orange.
So tasty.
Easy to prepare with ingredients typically found in most homes, with exception perhaps of the marmalade. The flavour profile of whichever BBQ sauce you use really influences the final taste so it’s worth tweeking to get your preferred flavour. I personally found it too sweet (again, the BBQ sauce used impacts this) & would prefer an alternate to the orange marmalade without sacrificing the orange flavour. I’d definitely try it again as it was even better as reheated leftovers.
AMAZING!
The ingredients didn’t blend well together. Just tasted like orange marmalade and bbq sauce mixed together – not like actual restaurant orange chicken sauce
It was delicious. I used a honey BBQ and 1/3 cup more of the orange marmalade because my husband likes it orangey. Only thing was my sauce never really thickened. Next time I’ll take more stock out of the pot and use more cornstarch
I didnt think this tasted at all like Orange Chicken….
This chicken was very tasty and the gravy was something else. I served it over steamed jasmine rice. I used smuckers natural orange marmalade and Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar bbq sauce. I recommend 3 lbs of chicken instead of 2. There is plenty of room in the pot. If youre like me you’ll eat almost half a pound of chicken while cubing it to go back into the pot. I can’t remember the last time I had takeout orange chicken but I could swear the chicken had batter on in.
I agree with most that the marmalade needs to be decreased. Otherwise it’s great.
Was good. Sauce did not thicken up but tasty. Took advice to cut chicken first and cooked fine in 6 mins (1.8 lbs chicken thigh). Had it over homemade fried rice with veggies.
Tasted excellent!
It tastes Ok!
It was ok but in my opinion too strong on the “orange”. The marmalade was just too much. My husband and boys loved it though so thats a win! Super easy to make and quick cooking time.
This is my first review. Im still not sure how chicken can cook in 5 minutes plus a 5-6 simmer. Not bad!
