I got the BURN message right away. I did put a little more cheese in than the recipe called for. Ultimately I dumped everything into a casserole dish and finished it in the oven. Next time I’ll just make a dish like this in the oven or maybe crock pot.

Got up to pressure then burn notice twice. I think it needs more liquid on the bottom. Put in oven to finish

Doesn’t work in the instant pot. The cheese keeps burning so the pressure wont lock because it keeps byrning

This recipe is tricky to make in the inner pot and must be followed precisely. I would add broth and then first layer as recommend. You can also make this in an oven safe dish that fits in the inner pot.

We made this as our first instant pot meal. Turned out amazing. We made sure we used extra broth just so it would make it not burn. Great recipe.

Was very yummy. I didnt get the right cheese consistency as seen in the picture. It still turned out very yummy though.

This was my first meal in the Instant Pot. I think more meat needs to be added. There’s really too much potato. Otherwise, it was good and easy.

    Very easy, quick and tasty.
Didn’t look like the picture as I used a pale coloured Cheddar instead of the more yellow version.

Having an initial layer of potatoes causes the burn error to come up on my Duo 6 quart before pressure can be achieved. Also agree that the cheese disappears and doesn’t look like the picture. Removed from instant pot, added cream of cheddar soup and more cheese and baked in oven.

My first instantpot failure. Burn messages one after the other. Dumped into a casserole dish and into the oven. Just so so.

My first InstantPot failure as well. I kept getting the burn notice which I haven’t gotten in 1 1/2 years! I wound up putting it in the oven after the third burn notice. Maybe if I make this again I’ll put the potatoes on the rack.

Love it, the only problem is that the cheese goes all the way to the bottom of the pot and sticks in it … ill try again putting the cheese in each plate

It burned even after adding more beef stock. Ended up being a casserole; put it in the oven for 20-25 mins at 450 degrees and it turned out well. So 2 stars for the instant pot, 4.5 for the oven.

Burn notice three times! Even after adding more than enough stock!! Still trying to clean the pot. Had to finish in the oven as well.

Turned out really good my husband and I really liked this dish,. I did after reading the reviews use the rack and about a cup more broth over the top .

I made my version of this dish (allergy to peppers forces me to alter every recipe) and it was absolutely delicious! Hubby even ate the leftovers cold on a bun, for his lunch.
I didn’t wash out my IP after cooking the beef and garlic. Instead of using broth, I used water and gravy mix. I topped the last layer with a can of cheddar cheese soup, then cooked as directed. I immediately removed the inner liner to a cutting board and placed a lid on top to loosen the cheese from the bottom. Delicious!

Awesome dish but burn food issue. I followed directions but still burned. May need to add a steamer tray

Just made it! Super easy and quick. Family loved it. Even my super picky son came back for seconds and wants to know when i’ll make it again. It did not burn. Instapot briefly said ‘food burning’ just as it reached pressure cooking temp but it flashed on and off and all was good
