Helpful Tip: Fresh butternut squash should be peeled and seeded. A 2 1/2 lbs squash should yield the 24 ounces needed in this recipe. For easier prep, cubed butternut squash is often sold pre-chopped in the refrigerated case of the produce section. Frozen squash can also be used.
Pumpkin Soup Variation: To make a creamy pumpkin soup, fresh chopped pumpkin can be substituted for the squash. 15 ounce ( 1 can ) of pure pumpkin can also be substituted. Also try substituting 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice in place of the nutmeg.

Talk about smooth! Very tasty.
Delicious! I added a spoonful of plain greek yogurt at the end amd omited the sugar and it was very savory.
“24 ounces cubed butternut squash”
Is that 24 ounces of weight (680 grams) or 24 fluid ounces?
What size cubes? I made this with 3/4″ to 1″ cubes and the blender could not blend them until 25 minutes into the Soup Program. Got an error message “ISC”, whatever that means.
Excellent. Easy. I added a bit more sugar to sweeten it up.
Absolutely delicious!
Not a review but a question. What it says to use a glass bowl on the base of the instapot, can i just use the metal bowl it came with? Thanks
I had to look up what an Ace Blender is, and it is a bkender with a heating element. This recipe is not for a pressure cooker, but for the blender.
Hi Beverly,
This is a recipe for our blender and not the pressure cooker.
Excellent flavor. I made a roux sauce and 1C milk, poured in the blended soup. Amazingly good.
Very easy to make, except it wasn’t creamy when it was finished. Had to pull out the emulsion blender to make it creamy.
Followed the recipe and it came out great! Definitely on the list to make again in the future!
Followed the recipe and it was amazing. Instead of butter are used a tablespoon and a half of duck fat, and it was great. The best part was topping it with a little bit of feta cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds, and a teaspoon of Brandy stirred in each bowl. That just made it all the much better!
Yummy. I added the sage to the cooking process (which wasn’t stated to do but assumed we were supposed to). Then I heated 2 tablespoons of oil and lightly fried several additional sage leaves and turned the oil off to left them steep while the ACE was running. Adding this oil with the cream takes it to another level. Added a bit of cayenne at the end too, to add a bit of a kick.
I made made it but in the instant pot on accident.
Diced everything up, blended it and pressure cooked for 5 min.
After that i added a but of half and half and mixed it in. Yummmmm.
Hi Jarev,
We are glad you enjoyed the recipe and were able to modify it.
With our Ace Blender the great part is that it actually cooks thanks to it’s heating element with one touch cooking programs.
Husband loved it!
